About the Cholesterol Ratio

How It Works

- The category thresholds of 3.5 and 5 are fixed and don't adjust for age, sex, or other individual risk factors that a clinician would normally weigh alongside this ratio.
- A favorable ratio only reflects the total-to-HDL relationship; it doesn't account for LDL particle levels, triglycerides, or other markers that also factor into overall cardiovascular risk assessment.
