About the Iced Tea Dilution
Tea brewed at drinking strength and poured straight over ice ends up watered down as the ice melts, which is why many iced tea recipes call for brewing a stronger concentrate first and diluting it separately. How It Works

Formula & Methodology
The relationship is a simple two-step scale: first find the water volume by multiplying concentrate by the ratio, then add that water volume back to the original concentrate to get the total pour. Because tea concentrate is typically brewed at roughly double normal strength or steeped longer with more tea, a 1:1 ratio (one part water per one part concentrate) restores it to standard drinking strength, while a higher ratio like 1.5:1 or 2:1 stretches a batch of concentrate further into a milder, larger-volume pitcher.

Lighter Batch Dilution
32oz of concentrate diluted at a 1.5:1 ratio needs 48oz of water added (32 x 1.5), bringing the total finished tea to 80oz for a milder, less concentrated pitcher.
