How It Works

Enter your goal finish time in decimal hours, for example 4 for a 4:00:00 marathon. The calculator converts that into total minutes, then divides by the fixed marathon distance in miles (26.2188) and kilometers (42.195) to get your required per-mile and per-kilometer pace. It then multiplies that per-kilometer pace by the distance to each checkpoint to produce a split time for 10K, the half marathon, 30K, and the finish.

Total Minutes = Goal Hours x 60. Pace per Mile = Total Minutes / 26.2188. Pace per Km = Total Minutes / 42.195. Split Time at distance d (km) = Pace per Km x d.

Formula & Methodology

Because the calculator assumes a single flat pace held from start to finish, every split is simply proportional to distance covered.
