How It Works
You enter the hourly rate, the number of hours you expect to park, and a daily maximum (or set it to 0 if the garage has no cap). The calculator multiplies the hourly rate by the duration to get a raw cost, then compares that raw cost against the daily maximum and returns whichever is lower whenever a cap is set. If the cap changed the result, it flags that the maximum saved you money.

At the default $4/hour rate for 6 hours with a $20 daily maximum, the raw cost of $24 exceeds the cap, so the total charges at $20 and the calculator flags that the maximum saved money.
Cap has no effect
At $3/hour for 4 hours with a $25 daily maximum, the raw cost of $12 stays below the cap, so the total charges the full $12 with no cap applied.

Edge Cases to Watch For

- The cap can only ever lower the total cost, never raise it, so if the raw hourly total already falls below the daily maximum, the cap has no effect on the result.
