About the Wallpaper Calculator
A wallpaper roll's stated square footage overstates how much wall it will actually cover, since pattern matching and trim waste eat into the usable portion - especially for large repeating patterns.
How It Works
The calculator divides total wall area by a usable coverage figure per double roll, which defaults conservatively to account for typical trim and pattern-matching waste.
Examples
A feature wall
300 sq ft of wall area at 30 sq ft of usable coverage per double roll needs about 10 double rolls.
A simple pattern with less waste
The same 300 sq ft with a less wasteful pattern (adjusting coverage up to 40 sq ft per roll) would need only about 8 rolls.
