Because it's a linear projection built on an approximation, it should be read as a reasonable planning estimate rather than a guaranteed schedule.
Step-by-Step: Calculating It By Hand

The same 25 lb goal at a 750-calorie daily deficit shortens the timeline to about 16.7 weeks - faster, but a bigger daily commitment to sustain.
